Getting "Error 404 Page Not Found" despite page is published and domain is connected

SOLVE

I keep getting an "Error 404 Page Not Found" message when I type my domain (angelastyles.com) in my Google search engine. I have tried the following:

- Typing the domain in a different browser (Microsoft Edge)

- Typing the domain differently (www.angelastyles.com)

- Copying and pasting the specific link beneath the website page name on my dashboard (which took me to the associated page, but is not my domain of angelastyles.com)

- Unpublishing and re-publishing all the pages

- Selecting primary content types for the domain

- Attempting to transfer landing pages to website pages by exporting the landing pages and cloning them

- Choosing "English-United States" as the primary language under "Language Settings"

- Validating the tracking code

- Nothing that the SSL activation is secure for both angelastyles.com and www.angelastyles.com

- Noting that all the domains say "Connected"

- Waited more than 72 hours to ensure domain is properly connected

None of these have solved the issue. What should I do so that when I type my domain into a search engine, my published page shows up?

Note: I have transferred my domain from Zoho. In the Domain section, my domain is "Unlocked," Privacy Protection is "Enabled," and I do have a "Transfer Authorization Code."

Getting "Error 404 Page Not Found" despite page is published and domain is connected

SOLVE

I have solved the problem. I noticed that on my dashboard, rather than the url being angelastyles.com, it said angelastyles.com/home. So on the website editor page, under settings, I changed the url. Thanks again!

Getting "Error 404 Page Not Found" despite page is published and domain is connected

SOLVE

Welcome to the Community @AFraser9. I'm sorry this is happening - it has to be incredibly frustrating.

As a community member here to help, first let me say thank YOU for the details here. Very helpful.

Here's what I'm thinking (in random order, not a directive to follow these steps). Do you have any 301 redirects set up somewhere that may be causing the isse? If you had different URL structures in Zoho, set up 301 redirects for those legacy paths to your current HubSpot URLs (under Website > Domains & URLs > URL Redirects). I ask because in part after I type in your website, it redirects me to a HubSpot placeholder domain.

I know you mentioned that you've chosedn primary for content, but what about confirming the correct domain is set as 'Primary' under HubSpot Settings > Website > Domains & URLs? SSL status should be ‘Active’ and language correctly selected (English–United States is fine as far as I know).

Double-check your DNS records in your registrar’s dashboard (still under Zoho’s control, unless you moved it). Ensure the CNAME and A records match exactly what HubSpot provides during the connection process—errors here are the most common 404 source for connected domains.

Homepage Assignment: Verify that a homepage is published and set as the default for the root path ("/") in Website > Domains & URLs in HubSpot. Without an assigned homepage, even connected domains will show 404.

Unfortunately, it might come down to disconnecting and reconnecting your domain through HubSpot. This can re-sync settings more thoroughly than refreshing or toggling pages’ published state. DNS changes may need another 24–72 hours after this action (😖).

I also found this "Special Note for Zoho Domain Transfers" that may help.
Locked/Privacy Settings: Make sure your transferred domain’s privacy or lock state isn’t preventing HubSpot from serving pages to the public. While “Unlocked” usually means transfer was successful, double-check Zoho’s DNS controls if possible.

Finally, I'll tag my friend @JWingate2 here as he helps folks with this. Josh have you seen this issue? Any advice?

I hope something here helps!

Getting "Error 404 Page Not Found" despite page is published and domain is connected

SOLVE
I am still receiving the Error 404 Page Not Found when I type my domain into the Chrome address bar. I was able to try new things (shown below). I'd greatly appreciate it if you have any more suggestions.

I have reconnected the domain and verified that the SSL certificate is running as it's supposed to.

I was not able to change the Nameservers on Zoho. The values I put in, did not work. So Zoho's nameservers are active. I have been unable to turn it off. This is what it says:
Nameserver 1    ns11.zns-53.com.
Nameserver 2   ns21.zns-53.net.
Nameserver 3   ns31.zns-53.com.
Nameserver 4   ns41.zns-53.net.

I have updated "Hostnames" on Zoho. It looks like this:
Hostname                  IP Addresses
angelastyles.com     199.60.103.129
                                   199.60.103.29

I have updated the records for Domain Forwarding:
Hostname                                           Redirection Type                               Forward To
angelastyles.com.angelastyles.com            301                                  http://199.60.103.129
www.angelastyles.com.angelastyles.com  301                        https://www.angelastyles.com/

Thank you for the warm welcome, and for acknowledging how frustrating this process has been for me.

An update for you and everyone else trying to help:

My domain was disconnected. I have just today reconnected it successfully, and am waiting for it to take effect. I tried putting the domain (angelastyles.com) in the search engine to see if it worked, just in case, but did not get the result I was hoping for.

Hi Angela,

It sounds like your HubSpot pages are published correctly, but the issue is likely with domain routing or DNS configuration rather than HubSpot itself. Here’s what to check:

  1. Confirm the primary domain — In HubSpot → Settings → Domains & URLs, ensure angelastyles.com is set as your primary domain for Website Pages (not just connected).

  2. Check DNS records — Your domain (both angelastyles.com and www.angelastyles.com) should have A records pointing to HubSpot’s IP addresses:

    • 185.151.30.0

    • 185.151.30.1
And a CNAME record for www pointing to yourdomain-com.sites.hubspot.net.

  3. Visit the URL directly — Try opening https://angelastyles.com and https://www.angelastyles.com directly in your browser’s address bar (not via Google Search). If one works and the other doesn’t, you’ll need to redirect or set one as canonical in HubSpot.

  4. Reindex in Google Search Console — Once the page loads correctly, submit your domain in Google Search Console so Google updates its index (it may still be caching the old or disconnected version).

If everything looks right but it still 404s, contact HubSpot Support to verify your domain mapping — sometimes transferred domains (like from Zoho) retain old DNS propagation paths that need manual clearing.

Getting "Error 404 Page Not Found" despite page is published and domain is connected

SOLVE
Thank you for such a quick response.

I confirmed that my primary domain is angelastyles.com, updated the DNS
records as suggested, and tried opening the URLs directly in the address
bar, but am still having trouble. What came up was "This site can't be
reached." The sites also took long to load.

I also attached some screenshots of the results I have received.

Unfortunately, I have been unsuccessful in contacting HubSpot Support. I
have the "HubSpot's Free Tools" plan. Any other suggestions?

Hi @AFraser9,

Thank you for posting to the Community!

I understand that you are receiving a 404 error when clicking into your page from Google search.

I'd like to tag in some of our Top Contributor to see if they've experienced this behavior before.

Hi @danmoyle @Adriane and @NicoleSengers I hope you all are having a great Wednesday! Have any of you seen this with any of your Hubspot pages? If so, how did you resolve? Any advice for @AFraser9?

Thank you!
