Follow Up Video page AFTER Landing Page

SOLVE

Hi There,

I'm very new to HubSpot and a fairly inexperienced marketer. This question may be obvious, or posted in the wrong part of this site, or both - apologies if it is. Please can you help?

Summary of my Question: I am creating a landing page for an on-demand webinar. I was wondering what best/recommended practice is for sharing the video after they've completed the form.

Few more details:

- The webinar was recorded as MP4 and 2GB in size.

- It is on our Dropbox and on our Vimeo.

- I was going to create a webpage and embed the video there, and then create a workflow to email the link to the page - but then anyone could find it and share it without filling in the form, right?

- Obviously I would prefer a solution that feeds into our HubSpot data strategy, i.e. tracking video watching if that is possible.

My thanks in advanced.

Nigel

Follow Up Video page AFTER Landing Page

SOLVE

Hi Nigel,

Good timing! We ran a webinar last week ourselves which we had to follow the same process. Annoyingly, HubSpot don't have a native integration with Vimeo BUT if you download the video, if possible, you are able to add this onto a landing page.

The process we use is:

1) Download the video once the webinar has finished

2) Upload this as a file on HubSpot

3) Set-up a landing page with a form and link this to a thank-you page

4) Add the video to your thank-you page

If you would like a quick 15 minute call to discuss further details, we are more than happy to do this. Please let me know.

Follow Up Video page AFTER Landing Page

SOLVE

Hi @nigeld27 ,

@ElyshaShave seems to have this covered off - that's how I'd do it as well. Just on this specific point:

I was going to create a webpage and embed the video there, and then create a workflow to email the link to the page - but then anyone could find it and share it without filling in the form, right?

You can hide individual pages from search engines, which could be what you want to do here. That will at least stop people Googling and landing straight on the landing page. You can do that as follows:

  1. Goto Marketing >> Landing Pages and edit your page.
  2. Go to the Settings tab.
  3. Click Advanced Options.
  4. In the Head HTML box, enter:
<meta name="robots" content="noindex">

That will mean no appearing in search engines. It wouldn't stop people sharing your page with others, though.

The slightly more advanced option is to create an Active List for all users who have completed the form submission and use smart content on the landing page to only show the video to the members of that list, and to everyone else show a button which directs people back to the landing page to complete the form.

PS: I'd also compress that video first to H.264 to make it a bit smaller, especially if you wanted to offer a download, it probably would be better as a file that isn't 2GB. If it's already in your Vimeo account, Vimeo has already pre-compressed it for you, so you can download it from the Vimeo settings page, save you doing it yourself 🙂

Cheers,

Mike

Thank you

@mike-ward I don't think video content can be "smart" so whilst that could have been my preferred idea, I don't think it will work. It is a shame as the active list idea is a good one.

@ElyshaShave thanks, I think this is the simplest idea so will do it.

Thank you both. Hopefully I can pass on my knowledge to someone else at some point.

Hi @nigeld27 ,

I never fully understand why some things can be smart and others not 🙂 I'm sure there's a reason for it.

You can always put your video embed into the source code inside a Rich Text field, which you can then make smart. That way you can make pretty much any content you like smart 🙂

Cheers,

Mike
