Applying a marketing subscription to my blog instead of blog subscription?

SOLVE

I'm looking for more information on blog subscriptions... We currently have a module on our blog front page as legacy that subscribes a contact to the blog. We don't however have any blog-specific emails set up for notifications of new blog posts. So, those that subscribe via this form don't receive anything/won't necessarily be subscribed to anything unless they've also gone through another entry point.

Our blog is really more of a content hub and there is no need for any contact to receive a notification about every single thing we post there. So ideally, I'd prefer that all contacts are added to our content (marketing) subscription. I'd rather consent, unsubscribes etc are all handled in the same way for all contact and also that we don't need to create additional email templates for these specific subscribers (there is likely crossover of audience anyway), use up email sends and so on.

Is it very simply a case of switching the blog subscription form out for a new one that adds people to marketing content subscription (with appropriate consent language applied) i.e. we can just ignore blog subscription altogether? Really just want to be sure there isn't any kind of 'fallout' to doing that e.g. there are no limitations in how HubSpot is set up that would stop us from doing that?

Hey @helen_c  you should be able to change this on the blog subscription form itself! If you open the blog subscription form in the forms tool (should be called something like "subscribe to *blog name*". You can add in a subscription module in the GDPR options (other fields > GDPR). You don't have to have a checkbox if you don't wish to but you can set the form subscription here! You can just choose the marketing subscription type on this module and all submissions on this form will then be opted into your marketing subscription type!

Thanks @TomM2 , it took me a while to find that option! Styling on the form is messed up now, but hopefully I can fix that fairly easily. 🔨
