[Public Beta] Data Panel with associated record data in workflows Question

Hey! I am absolutely loving this beta so far. I'm trying to get clarification on how the features work when combined with delays or other situations that might alter which record is "most recent" - is this determined at the point of workflow enrolment, or at the point of each action? I.e. if a workflow starts based off one one associated record, hits a delay, continues and a different record has been edited, are the values still from the originally accessed associated record, or the one that now meets the criteria?

We recently gained access to the beta version; however, it hasn't addressed our specific issue yet, which doesn't seem to be the most complex feature. What we essentially need is the ability to associate a company and contact person based on a shared associated deal. Currently, while the deal has both a company and a contact associated to it, the company and the contact are not directly associated with each other. 

Due to the lack of this association contact owners are not correctly set and a lot of manual work is needed.

Is this something you can look into?

Hey Qwiek - you've asked me (not a HubSpot employee) a completely different question underneath my own question. This is not the best way to get any kind of information on this forum. Ideally, you would post your own question as the start of a new thread, so other people could see and answer.

Luckily for you, I do know the answer to your question, but you probably won't like it. The only way to do what you're looking for (associate a Company and Contact based on a shared Deal) would be to use a custom code action in a HubSpot Workflow. By using the Associations API, you can make this association.

However, if you don't know how to code anything yourself (Javascript or Python), this will be very difficult. Best of luck!

Sorry Arden. I actually got this link from a Chat with an HubSpot employee 😶 - So I "assumed" this was the general feedback thread and didn't really read your post (I can confirm now ;)).
