Thanks for hosting this! We're not OpsHub users, on enterprise sub level. I noticed when looking at the feature comparison of DataHub that a lot of the AI functionality we currently use, are listed as features within data hub (enrichment, intent, smart properties, etc.). Will we loose access to these features or anything other AI powered features if we don't sign up for data hub?

Here's something else I'm thinking about as a consultant and occasional trainer: What’s the ideal onboarding roadmap for non-technical teams? Where should I help them focus first for measurable quick wins and minimal disruption to existing campaigns or automations?

Sorta covered it in my other reply, but data quality is a great way to demonstrate the value of Data Hub with some quick, non-technical wins.
For studio, I'd probably try to find their most painful data management process and see if I could solve it. We see a lot of people (especially less technical users) managing data that lives in spreadsheets, and doing all kinds of crazy imports/exports, cleanup, etc.. That's a great process to optimize by connecting the sheet they're working in directly to the data studio!

Thank you for hosting this AMA, @lisaedwards and team!
I've been using HubSpot since 2010, when there was only one "hub" 😂 #oldman
So my question is this: What practical steps should a longtime user like me follow to get the most value out of Data Studio and proactive data quality tools?

👋 thanks for hanging out with us for 15 years!
For someone that's been around a while and has a portal that's up and running (or managing customer portals as a partner), I'd probably start with data quality.
Pop into the data quality overview, and it'll pretty much tell you if your data needs work. It'll also tell you exactly how to clean it up - easy peasy. Just be sure to understand how merges affect records in HubSpot before turning on any automation or manually merging records.
For data studio, getting started is a bigger project but well worth the time.
The biggest thing to know about studio as an existing power-user is that it introduces an entirely new way to use external data in HubSpot.
With data studio, you can connect external data sources (spreadsheets, other apps, data warehouses, etc.) and then use that data in workflows, segments (FKA lists), and reports without ever having to map that data into your CRM. This is great for "one time use" data (e.g. a list of people that attended a live event) or data that you want to use in a list, workflow or report that doesn't really belong in CRM (e.g. financial projections).
For ex., I could trigger a workflow based on data from a Google Sheet (say, webinar attendance or trade show info), without having to import that data and map it to a CRM property first. Or I could connect some revenue data from a separate platform and build a report - again, without having to model that data in the CRM. That's pretty cool, IMO.
Data studio can also help you combine and prep data. So, I could connect external data, blend it with data that was already in the CRM, and do some pretty cool transformation with formulas, functions and the Data Agent.
To get started, I'd evaluate how you're currently using external data in your portal. Ask yourself questions like:
Do I have any funky manual import/export processes, or other painful data prep I'm doing in spreadsheets?
Have I been using custom objects as a workaround to trigger workflows or list segmentation or reports?
Do I have custom objects that are unassociated or unrelated to other objects in CRM?
What external data do I wish I could connect to HubSpot, but haven't been able to because CRM modeling would be messy or impossible?
Do I (or my clients) have a data warehouse they'd like to connect to HS via the studio?
If you answered "yes" to any of those, data studio can probably help! I'd recommend checking out the HS Academy and watching the data studio content we created. That'll help you get an idea for what's possible, and how the studio can improve your data management in HS.

Good Morning,
I have newly discovered the possibilities offered with Event Management, and used the Visualizer, no code option, trying to go as no code, and was wondering how we could add some custom properties that would be collected at the time of the event occurence?
[AMA CLOSED] Ask Us Anything about Data Hub | September 15-19, 2025
Hey @JLetellier - checked in with the Product Manager that oversees events, and right now custom properties must be created with custom JavaScript or the API.
I'll DM you their calendar link so y'all can chat further about it!

Can you tell us more about how/where/and extent of the rules we can write for the Smart CRM data enrichment component? For example, if we get tons of OOOs for termed folks with a mention of a new team member taking on that role for a company, can we control if the contact records are updated?
[AMA CLOSED] Ask Us Anything about Data Hub | September 15-19, 2025
Hey there! It sounds like your question potentially stradles two separate features.
Smart Properties via Data Agent -- this will let you create properties based on a custom prompt. You can ask Data Agent to use web research, the company's website, another property on the record, or call transcripts to populate the smart property's value. Documentation on this can be found here.
Conversational Enrichment -- this will look at data found within the emails you send to records in the CRM, and update/create new records accordingly. Conversational enrichment has three toggles that you can manage -- 1) update CRM properties from email data, 2) create new records from email data, and 3) pinpointing when someone will return from OOO. Documentation on this feature can be found here.
If you'd like to check out our enrichment tools, feel free to go to Settings > Data Management > Data Enrichment in your portal.

Can you walk us through the pricing and packaging for Data Hub? What's the difference between Starter, Pro, and Enterprise? And, what uses credits...and how?
[AMA CLOSED] Ask Us Anything about Data Hub | September 15-19, 2025
👋 sure! Data Hub looks roughly like this, feature-wise:
Fully customizable data sync (Starter)
Data Agent (Starter+)
Data studio (Pro)
Automated & customizable deduplication (Pro)
Data quality automation (Pro)
Programmable automation (Pro)
Data warehouse integrations (Enterprise)
Check out the product catalog for a full side-by-side breakdown.
Data studio and data agent are the only Data Hub features that use credits.
Data studio uses credits when you sync datasets to segments, workflows or the CRM. Credit usage is based on the size of the data source (small, medium or large data source), how many syncs you set up (e.g., connecting a dataset to a workflow and a segment = 2 syncs), and the frequency of the sync.
Ex: A small data source connected to a workflow and a segment syncing daily = 25 credits (small) x 2 destinations (workflow and segment) x 30 refreshes per month = 1,500 credits/mo.
Data Agent uses credits when you fill a smart property, create a smart column in a dataset, or use smart actions in a workflow. More info on that here, but it's basically 1 response from the Agent = 10 credits.
Do you have questions about how it works, integrates with your current set up, or how to build out programmable automation? Drop them below and we will get back to you!
Thank you,
Cassie, Community Manager

For Data Studio specifically, we believe some of the most compelling use cases for marketers include: - using the Data Studio to combine external data source signals with your HubSpot data to build workflow automations - utilizing external source signals for creating Segments from Data studio - building more comprehensive reports using external sources to identify focus areas for marketing efforts

Hey @HEdwards4 - the data quality overview is a great place to start. It'll give you info on property usage, fill rate, duplicates - all kinds of stuff.
For technical teams, this is valuable info. If it were my portal, I'd probably run a quarterly property audit with that info.
I'd also look for trends in duplicates or formatting issues that I could tie back to the source. Faulty integration? Manual entry? Those are all things you can think about solving for in various different ways. Property validation, quality automation in workflows, all kinds of stuff!
