Recent Spam Attack: What Happened and How to Report Issues

Dear HubSpot Community Members,

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your patience and understanding following the spam attack that targeted our forums between February 24 and 26, 2024. With your swift notifications, we were able to remove the spam and ban the offenders promptly.

The strength of our community lies in our collective effort to keep conversations open and engaging without the need for prior moderator approval. However, we realize some members might be unsure how to report issues. Here's a quick guide:

  1. Identifying Inappropriate Content: Familiarize yourself with our Community Guidelines and Terms of Use to understand what's expected in our forums.
  2. Reporting Steps: Look for the horizontal three dots next to each post. Clicking this allows you to “Report Inappropriate Content.” Once reported, our team will review and take necessary actions to maintain our community standards.

To further secure our forums, we will be implementing CAPTCHA from March 8-11. This temporary measure is designed to deter spam and ensure the quality of our discussions. Your feedback on this and any other preventive measures is highly valued, as we explore long-term solutions to enhance our community's safety.

We are committed to learning from these incidents and strengthening our defenses. Your vigilance and cooperation have been instrumental in this process, and for that, we are incredibly grateful.

Thank you for being an essential part of our community. Together, we'll continue to create a safe, welcoming space for all members.

Warm regards,

The HubSpot Community Team
