Introducing: the Get Started guides on the KB!

We’re launching a brand new type of content on the Knowledge Base that will help users get up and running quickly with HubSpot: the "Get Started" guides

There are seven "Get Started" guides that cover HubSpot’s marketing, sales, and service tools. We also included a HubSpot Glossary that defines common terms used across tools.

Why did we create these guides?

Our users consistently tell us that getting set up with HubSpot is overwhelming. We therefore set out to create documentation specifically for new users. This documentation would outline key tasks for using HubSpot effectively across different tools.

To create this content, we used:

  • Data from a survey about help and learning resources at HubSpot
  • Google Analytics data about the top tasks searched in Google
  • Feedback from our customer-facing teams

What are the Get Started guides?

When you enter a destination into your GPS, you’re shown an overview of your journey. This gives you a high-level understanding of where you’re headed and how the pieces of your journey connect. You’re then able to dive in deeper with turn-by-turn directions. This is the goal of the “Get Started” guides.

Think of each guide as a roadmap for a new user getting set up with HubSpot. Within each guide, there are sections that help the user understand and connect different pieces of a broader goal. To reach that goal, the user can navigate to the task-specific articles for additional information and steps.

For example, a sales rep wants to begin sending emails to prospects. In the Generate sales guide, they can see the steps involved in accomplishing that goal, from connecting a personal email and installing the sales extension to creating templates and sending emails. They can then check out the linked articles to get step-by-step instructions and complete each task.
