@ENayowitz0 I think if you want this in HubSpot and then send it to Facebook, you need it to be a custom property. Here's what I found in some research on this.
The "User Agent" field you're encountering in various contexts is not a standard contact property in HubSpot. Instead, it's a piece of information that's typically collected and used in specific scenarios, such as when creating events or integrating with other platforms like Facebook Ads.
Here's what I think is happening in each of the situations you've described:
HubSpot Ad Events: When you create an event in HubSpot (Ads -> Events) that syncs with Facebook Ads, HubSpot automatically includes the "User Agent" information. This is not stored as a contact property but is sent along with the event data.
Facebook Ads: Facebook receives and recognizes the "User Agent" information as part of the event data sent from HubSpot (sent, but not stored).
HubSpot Contacts: You don't see a "User Agent" field when viewing a contact in HubSpot because it's not stored as a standard or custom contact property.
Zapier Integration: Zapier likely offers a "User Agent" field as an option because it's a common piece of data used in web-related integrations. However, since it's not a standard HubSpot contact property, you won't find it directly mapped to a contact field.
The "User Agent" typically contains information about the user's browser and operating system. It's collected at the time of an event or interaction, rather than being stored as a persistent contact property.
If you need to store "User Agent" information for your contacts in HubSpot, you would need to create a custom contact property for this purpose. However, keep in mind that this information can change frequently for a single user, so storing it as a contact property may not always be practical or useful.
For your Zapier integration, if you need to send "User Agent" information to Facebook, you might need to explore alternative methods of capturing this data, such as through website tracking or custom event implementations.

I would like to send this event through Zapier to Facebook conversion Event.
In Hubspot when create an event (Ads -> Events) that is automatically sent to my Facebook Ads account I see "User Agent"
When I go to my Facebook account and I look at the event it says it is receiving "User Agent"
However,
When I go to a contact in Hubspot I don't see any field for "User Agent".
In Zapier, when created a zap from Hubspot to Facebook there is a field for "User Agent". But I can't find a Contact the property for user agent. But as you can see above in creating an Event within Hubspot there is "User Agent" somewhere.

Dan, thanks so much. very insightful. Let me ask is there any way to find/get the browser and/or IP address in Hubspot? I'm guessing if the answer is no, then I will need our developer to somehow capture it and save it to a custom contact property.
FYI - here is what Facebook has on the User Agent/IP Address
Happy to help, @ENayowitz0😊 I'm glad it was valuable.
For IP address, no HubSpot doesn't store that. They use it for things like time zone and deduplication in forms, but they don't store it anymore, sadly.

Hi @ENayowitz0 and welcome to the HubSpot experience - and the Community! @kennedyp is spot on here. We don't have a standard or default HubSpot contact property for "User Agent." From what I understand, it is indeed a string that identifies the browser and operating system of a user.
But in HubSpot, contact properties store information about contacts, such as email addresses, names, or custom fields users create. And that typically comes from a form submission or intefgrastion. User Agent information is usually collected at the browser level so it's not stored as a contact property.
Form what I found, if you're sending a User Agent field to Facebook Ads, it's probably being collected and passed along separately from HubSpot's standard contact properties. This could be a custom property you or someone in your organization created specifically for this purpose, data collected and passed directly from your website to Facebook (bypassing HubSpot's contact properties), or a field that's being populated by an integration or third-party tool.
Here's what I'd do to try and find out what exactly is happening.
Check your custom contact properties in your HubSpot settigns to see if a "User Agent" field has been created.
Review the setup of your Facebook Ads integration or the specific event you created to send data to Facebook.
Consult with your development team or the person who set up the Facebook Ads integration to understand how this field is being populated and sent.
If you need to store that User Agent information for your contacts in HubSpot, you would need to create a custom contact property if it doesn't exist.
Hope that helps!

Hi @ENayowitz0! Welcome to the Community-- happy to have you here 😊
In this context, from what I understand, "user agent" is a string of text that a browser sends to a website, which identifies the browser and its operating system, allowing websites to tailor content to the device being used.
That said, I am not sure if this is stored in HubSpot properties anywhere. Is there a particular reason you are looking to view this in HubSpot. I am going to invite @trevordjones, @JordanJulio, and @danmoyle do you know if we can retrieve the user agent from FB Ads? Would there be any value from this strong?
Best,
Kennedy
