Meta Events names set by Hubspot are wrong

Something I have picked up recently - with the new and improved Hubspot and Meta API integration, the naming of the Events is all messed up. 

It appears to me that Hubspot have used labels for their Meta Events that do not match standard Meta labels. The labels are case sensitive and this means that long running campaigns I have optimised for the Lead event are no longer optimising for the correct event. Because Hubspot have called this a LEAD in all caps. Which is counted as a separate Event to a Lead.

I am seeing the same in all Hubspot integrated accounts that I manage. Is anyone else noticing this?

I pointed this out to our Hubspot rep a few months ago. My solution was to ditch Hubspot for tracking meta events. It's been a huge pain because they launched a product feature that actively hurts advertizers.

It seems that the recent HubSpot and Meta API integration has led to event naming inconsistencies. Could you provide us with more details such as an example?  The more information, screenshots, and details you can provide, the better I can advise on the next steps.

Hi Pam

I have attached a screenshot that is the mash up result of the transition to the API integration. Although it might be difficult to see which is which from here. But basically events made using the Meta Events Setup Tool (the tool provided by Meta) are labelled as Lead, while it appears that the new Hubspot/Meta integration labels them as LEAD which is recorded as a separate Event rather than the same event. It would be so much better for people if this was labelled the same! eg Lead. I have also had some API events sent as "lead" all in lower case, but I haven't figured out what they are yet!

Also in other accounts using the integration I can also see initial_lead and lead as an API event. It really would be helpful if Hubspot listed the names used for the integration events and their definition in the documentation somewhere. I have tried asking support but they didn't understand.

Have this issue been resolved by the reps? Is there anyway that we can change the setup of Meta events ourselves?
