LinkedIn lead gen forms - sync country to a drop down
SOLVE
So I am wrecking my brains over this, for some reason it seems like I am the only person in the world who wants to have a drop-down Country/RegionHubspot property, so I can efficiently geo-segment my audience AND use LinkedIn lead gen forms that sync into it. I couldn't find too much information about it, and talking to HS support, they literally just told me "don't."
Has anyone here ever done this successfully? I can't imagine I am the only one who needs this functionality.

Going back to this now, just wanted to say I tried the ISO alpha 2 values (which was a bit of a hassle) and unfortunately, it didn't work. Surprisingly enough tho, a serendipitous coincidence led me to find the solution.
Apparently, when setting the HubSpot default drop-down, the sync works almost perfectly. Well, NOT almost, but as close as you can get and with the least compromise on database hygiene and ability to segment. What happens is that the contacts with values that match the drop-down would sync perfectly, but the ones that don't will sync without a value under "country". Annoying, but solvable - you create an active list with filters: original source: Paid social, Drill down 1: LinkedIn, Country/Region: Unknown, and monitor it periodically. You can see the original value that was submitted in the form submission in the Settings> Marketing> Ads> Lead syncing >LinkedIn and then the specific form that was submitted.
Is it worth it? When the alternative is an open text country field, I would say yes.

Hi! In this setence "Apparently, when setting the HubSpot default drop-down, the sync works almost perfectly." what do you mean by "when setting the Hubspot default drop-down"? What did you change to make it work almost perfectly? 😃

If your Hubspot countries are set up using the ISO Alpha 2 values then LinkedIn lead forms' country data will sync 🙂
My learning is: only use Alpha 2 values for countries. If you use the full name as the display and the code as the internal value, then Hubspot seems to play nice and ellow sync with either - so even Facebook country data that is user generated matches and syncs most of the time for us.
For states/counties/departments you should also use separate Alpha 2 lists/properties in your own data set for each country - but also have a generic State/region for syncing with third parties - as it seems a lot of state/region info is user generated (so mis-spellings etc.).
