Hubspot and Google Ad Suspension with no campaign

SOLVE

Hey @TDo9  - this isn't common but it happens enough to where I've seen this before, especially with Google Ads. I had a client once get suspended and have to move to Microsoft Ads for a few months while we appealed, just a mess of a situation.

There are a few situations on why your account was suspended even without running Ads.

1) Sometimes, Google's automated systems make mistakes. Your account might have been flagged and suspended by their algorithm incorrectly identifying it as suspicious. A simple appeal should fix this with an additional QC by the Google system.

2) What kind of content is on your site? If your HubSpot account is connected to a website with content that violates Google Ads policies, such as selling banned products, misleading content, or having a poor user experience, this could lead to a suspension automatically.

3) What I've ran into: is there any way your company/brand has another Google Ads account floating somewhere else? If you launch another account whether you know there's an existing one out there or not, and Google see's this, that's an auto suspension as Google wants to crack down on duplicate Ad accounts. Also, if any account previously linked to your IP address, payment method, or even your personal details has been suspended for policy violations, Google might automatically suspend new accounts to prevent circumvention of their policies.

I hope this helps paint a clearer picture -

Same problem here.

  • New Google ads account
  • HubSpot > Adwords Connection
  • Start creating ads ...

And Boom ! Adwords account blocked we don't even know why.
Content is Ok, website is Ok, Ads were removed in case of ... The acount is still blocked.

The worst part ?
The Google Ads customer Support ! Fill forms and forms and forms for more than 1 month and we still don't know what's wrong and how to fix this. Not sure they know the meaning of "Solve for your customer" ?

Was just wondering if it could be the new CTA / Leadflow on the homepage ?

Hubspot and Google Ad Suspension with no campaign

SOLVE

Hi Jordan,

Thank you so much. I am a real estate agent so my site is a combination of who I am and blog posts about the area that I work in. I just created this website in November and suspension happened in February which is when I connected to Hubspot so I thought it may be Hupspot related.

So I just deleted that connection and reconnected Google Ad with the same email address but under a different Google Ad name? Does that make sense? This new Google Ad name is not suspended but I expect it to be suspected soon since it's using the same email address? This is my first time running google ad in like 5 years.

Should I delete this new one since I am doing exactly what you said they are trying to crack down, however, I dont know how to connect back to the old one.

Thank you so much!

Hi @TDo9, the pleasure is all mine.

With changing the name of you Google Ads account, this didn't change the actual Google Ads account #, correct? If there is another Google Ads account associated with your website - that's the biggest flag. You can have your email associated with different GA accounts, but having a specific website domain associated with multiple accounts is the big issue Google wants to avoid.

I would avoid making any new Google Ads accounts and keep pushing for an appeal on the suspended account - very worst case, you could delete your suspended ads account, make the changes Google recommends (if they tell you), and then start fresh with a brand new account, sync this new account with your HubSpot, and attempt to run campaigns and find success.

I hope that's helpful!
