HubSpot Ads Tracking & Blog Posts Autopublished To Facebook

SOLVE

TLDR > Not possible currently

Is it possible to use the autotracking option in Hubspot Ads when we're creating ads from Blog Posts that have been autopublished to Facebook via HubSpot?

I ask because the documentation says URL shorteners will break the tracking:

'The final URL in the Facebook ad must be a full URL and not shortened by a link shortener (e.g., bit.ly or hubs.ly). Link shorteners strip parameters from the end of the URL and prevents tracking'

https://knowledge.hubspot.com/articles/kcs_article/ads/ad-tracking-in-hubspot

This means blog posts autopublished to Facebook that have their URL shortened to a hubs.ly link cannot be tracked in Facebook ads.

I've had a look and you cannot turn of the link shortener for autopublished blog posts.

What should we do?

HubSpot Ads Tracking & Blog Posts Autopublished To Facebook

SOLVE

Hi @LollipopRob,

Posts published through the social tool are not currently compatible with the ads tool because there is currently no way to turn off our auto-link-shortening in the social tool.

It is on the team's radar as something to implement going forward.

Thank you,
Jenny
