Hi All
Am hoping someone with a more technical mindset can help.
We are working with google to implement Enhanced conversion tracking (https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/9888656?hl=en-GB) and would need to add the relevent code to the thank you page data layer.
We do not have a developer in house and we are struggling with how to implement this ourselves as Google have implied that it should be easy. We are not using the tag manager option.
Has anyone implmeneted this sucessfully and are you able to provide and clear insights on how to do this?
Thanks in advance!
Liza

HubSpot just announced that they're going to build this out within the platform. This is best option for most of us because HubSpot is already integrating with the Google Ads API via backend means. This means less or no lost data for consenting users that use ad and script blockers. No ETA yet. https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Google-Enhanced-Conversions-through-HubSpot/idc-p/645...

I have solved it by using Google Tag Manager and kept the redirect link to thank you page and it works totally fine
Follow this guide:
https://help.clearbit.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406216247959-Implement-Identify-Calls-with-Hubspot-Form...
Additional Step which it didn't mention - Create a custom variable: In order to add a phone and email to be able to send it to Google Ads
Create a Tag and trigger your tag with a custom event in order to capture the data
I hope this helps, if it works please upvote. I would appreciate it 🙂

Is there any news about this issue?

I spoke to a Google Ads Implementation Specialist yesterday. He confirmed that the ONLY way to setup Enhanced Conversions is to have form fields passed as URL Parameters to the 'thank you' page like this: https://www.mywebsite.com/thanks?email=john@gmail.com
So, there are only 2 options.
1. Hubspot updates their forms to give us this ability (vote for the feature here: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Google-Enhanced-Conversions-through-HubSpot/idi-p/596...)
2. Use custom embed code as @STaruc noted. Here's how to do that: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/APIs-Integrations/Include-form-fields-as-redirect-URL-parameters-on...
If I had to guess, and it's a total guess, I'd say Hubspot will get this feature setup in roughly 6 months time. Might be worth waiting depending on your situation.

I think I need to wait then 😕
Because I have set up my conversion in HubSpot. So I can get value of the conversionsend back to Google AdWords. If I need to add another technical aspect (Enhanced conversion tracking) I don't think that is duable outsite of HubSpot.

Thanks for the help Jkeough78 😎

You might be able to send your lead values to Google Ads using Zapier. That's what I do. Here, I shared one of my zaps that might help: https://zapier.com/shared/2f8e254e0ffcf5e3e08f3e8faf23d177c5f5563a

First & foremost, this is a problem best solved by HubSpot. Please upvote @STaruc feature request so HubSpot will fix this for us: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Google-Enhanced-Conversions-through-HubSpot/idi-p/596...
HubSpot support just told me that adding a delay to the 'thank you' page loading is probably not the best solution. It can take 30 seconds or more for the Personalization data to be made available.
So, I think the only viable solution for now, as suggested by @STaruc , is this: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/APIs-Integrations/Include-form-fields-as-redirect-URL-parameters-on...

Just had an idea. I think'd we all simply like to be able to add a Personalization Token to the "thank you" page to solve this. Problem, we all know, is that HubSpot needs a few seconds to process the data before a Personalization Token can be used. What if we changed our form to "display an inline thank you message" and in there we could put javascript that would redirect the user to the "thank you" page after 5 seconds.
Would this work?

Just an FYI, I'm going to be speaking to a Google Ads tagging specialist about this. My hunch is that Google will soon make it easier to implement Enhanced Conversions and we might be best to just wait a couple months for them to figure it out. There's already a Zapier integration to "Add customers to a customer list in Google Ads" so I would think we'll soon see a Zapier integration for Enhanced Conversions. I'll try to find out if that is on their roadmap.

Hi All
thanks for the advice we thought we found a solution in the data layer but as yet not confirmed if it is working. Its good to know others are having the same issues hopefully HS and Google can find the workable solution. Will keep trying and share any updates we have from our side,

My team is in the same boat using the HubSpot integration with WordPress. We use HubSpot forms on a WordPress site with WordPress Thank You pages, and our Google Rep wants us to add form field data on the Thank You pages in addition to creating the GTM conversion tag (we used a non-GTM conversion tag prior). Not sure what our options are - open to moving our Thank You pages to HubSpot if that helps things along - but seeing some of the other replies here it looks like that may not be viable at this time.

I thought I found a workable solution yesterday (3/15) by including fields collected from the form (email, company name, etc) within the copy on the Thank You page, using the personalization tokens.
It worked well for contacts that already had been established within our database. The personalization torkens worked, and my Google team said that would work!
However, for brand new contacts that moved through the form, it appears HubSpot couldn't process their data quick enough to include the personalization tokens within the Thank You page. Therefore, back to square one. I informed the Google team and my rep said several other clients were encountering the exact same issue.
I hope to receive some resolution from Google on this soon. When I do, I will provide an update on this thread.

Are your forms implemented using HubSpot's JS embedded format? if so, you could try sending the field values within the onFormSubmit callback using this method: https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/10172785#zippy=%2Cidentify-and-define-your-enhanced-con...
I still think this would be best implemented by HubSpot using Google's Ads API, as they're already capturing the fields necessary to send to Google for EC, and using the API to manage Google ads within HubSpot.
Mar 16, 2022 12:31 PM - edited Mar 16, 2022 5:34 PM
HubSpot already uses Google's Ads API to bring in and manage ads from HubSpot. It would be a big advantage if Enhanced Conversions data could be collected in HubSpot, and it makes sense to me as a feature as Enhanced Conversions can be passed through the Google Ads API. HubSpot forms already can collect the information necessary to send to Google to work with EC, so this integration would remove the need to isolate customer data by JS or CSS or any other frontend method.
I've created a feature request here, please upvote it: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Google-Enhanced-Conversions-through-HubSpot/idi-p/596...

@LizaW Have you found any resolution to this? My team is in the same boat.
Feb 17, 2022 10:45 AM
I also want to do this. I will let you know if I find a solution. If there's a way to display the lead's information (name, phone, email) on the "thanks" page then the rest is easy.
Feb 10, 2022 10:43 AM
Hi @LizaW
I really think the simplest solution here is use Google Tag Manager.
Is your website hosted on HubSpot CMS?
Feb 11, 2022 3:52 AM
Hi Yes it is, the paid team are not keen for some reason to add it to tag manager?
