Google ads tracking set-up with tracking URLs

I’m running Google Ads that drive traffic to a HubSpot-hosted landing page with an Auth0 “Sign-up” form. HubSpot’s Ads integration automatically adds tracking to the landing page and I added tracking UTM parameters to the CTAs on the landing page.

However, because our form is hosted in Auth0, we can’t fire the Google Ads conversion tag directly on form submission (we also can't add a thank-you page). Instead, here’s what we’re planning:

  1. Ads → HubSpot LP

    • Use HubSpot’s built-in Google Ads integration for click/impression tracking (auto-tagging + tracking template).

  2. CTA Tracking URLs

    • The visitor clicks on the unique HubSpot Tracking URLs (with utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, and utm_term) pointing to the Auth0 form.

    • This way, when a visitor clicks “Sign-up,” HubSpot logs the click on the CTA and attributes any form submission (via HubSpot’s cookie) to that Tracking URL.

  3. Lead Segmentation

    • In HubSpot, we’ll filter contacts by First Page Seen = our LP URL and Original Source Data = our campaign to isolate Ads-driven sign-ups.

My questions:

  • Does this approach reliably capture which users came from our Google Ads and completed the Auth0 form?

    • I understand that the click on the button does not mean 100% the form will be filled out.

  • Will we be able to see from which keywords the traffic came from?
  • Are there any pitfalls I’m missing?

    • I understand that the conversions won't get tracked, but we can do that manually afterwards.
    • I understand that Google Ads conversion metrics won’t populate in the Google Ads UI (for bidding and optimization)
