Google Ads Suspension

SOLVE

I have been trying to work through a Google Ads Suspension.

Unfortunately, a few missteps were taken when setting up Google Ads accounts. We have never used the account yet, but we got flagged for two reasons:

  • Your account violated the Suspicious Payments policy
  • Your account violated the Circumventing systems policy

One way we canceled and changed a payment method because we moved it to a corporate credit card. We got flagged for that.

Then, the big one was when Google notified me of the new Google Ads version. I accidentally opened another account with Google Ads because a business laptop was stolen, and I was dealing with all the security changes that had to be made across business and personal stuff.

I have gone through the appeals process and am working on all the privacy and compliance items that need to be cleaned up, but I would like to know if anyone else has been through this process. Do they have any recommendations? Or is there a recommended and trusted resource/company that can help with this?

Thanks!

Google Ads Suspension

SOLVE

Hi @MDubbs

This is common - once Google gets its crawlers on your site, it can flag issues with your domain (bad URLs, redirects, site content, etc) and flag / suspend your account without running a full-length ad campaign.

Curious about the suspicious payment flag, maybe resubmitting and having Google rescan the card may do the trick, odd.

To the circumventing systems point, yes, I had a client get flagged for this and we had to move to Bing Ads for a while. My best advice to navigate through is to delete the account you have and attempt to resurface access to the former OR keep your current account and reach out to Google to close down the former account. You cannot have 2 active Ads account live as Google will find both and flip out.

There really wouldn't be anything a 3rd party could do. Until the account you lost access to is deleted, then you'll be playing cat and mouse with Google. Reaching out to a Google rep to flag the old account and delete is best.

I hope this is helpful,

Jordan

Google Ads Suspension

SOLVE

I went through a very similar experience with my Google Ads account, and it was a nightmare to figure out. My account was suspended for Circumventing Systems before I even launched a campaign. I was also flagged for Suspicious Payments just because I updated the billing method too quickly after setup.

At first, I tried using the normal appeal process, but I kept getting automated responses from Google saying the suspension was final. It was incredibly frustrating because I didn’t understand what rule I had violated.

Eventually, I found an AI-based tool called ComplyAI that scans your entire website and gives you a breakdown of potential Google Ads violations. It showed me that my Privacy Policy was too vague, I had a few broken links, and one of my landing pages had inconsistent branding that could’ve looked deceptive to Google’s algorithm.

I fixed every issue the tool flagged, submitted a fresh appeal — this time clearly explaining the changes I made — and my account was reinstated within a few days.

🚀 Pro tip: If you're dealing with a Google Ads account suspension for circumventing systems or suspicious activity, don't waste time guessing. Use a tool that actually simulates how Google reviews your site.

Google Ads Suspension

SOLVE

Hi, this is John from StubGroup.

It's frustrating to see how many legitimate advertisers Google is continuing to suspend! Based on almost a decade of experience, I can confidently say that resolving Google Ads suspensions is not an easy process, so I feel your pain.

For context, StubGroup has been helping suspended advertisers get back online with Google since 2014 ("good faith" suspended advertisers only; we turn away the many suspended bad actors/scammers trying to game Google's systems and who want our help). And even though Google is more aggressive with their suspensions now than ever, we still have a high success rate at resolving Google's concerns and getting our suspended clients back online.

We've also created a lot of free educational content about Google suspensions on our YouTube channel. These videos are geared toward DIY advertisers who are trying to resolve their suspensions on their own, and we frequently release new content as Google's policies and enforcement approaches change.

You can check out that free Google Ads suspension content here.

You can go here for more info about how we help suspended advertisers who are looking for specialized expertise.

I'm bookmarking this, so feel free to ask me any questions and I'll do my best to watch for and answer them.

Hi Jordan,

Thanks so much. I will just keep plowing along with Google and see where I get. I really appreciate your suggestions, though!

The problem is just trying to get a hold of a Google rep and not the automated bots that scan the appeals. ; )

Hi @MDubbs,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community!

I understand that this is an action taken by Google, that your account has been suspended. I am sorry to hear this.
I hope that you'll be able to sort this soon.

This forum is dedicated to the HubSpot software, and most members of our Community are HubSpot, and not Google Ads experts.

So continuing to work with Google Ads Support is the best next step, as you have done so far.

However, I did find this similar thread "Hubspot and Google Ad Suspension with no campaign" that might be of interest.

I also wanted to invite a couple of Community Members to this conversation: Hi @TDo9 and @JordanJulio do you have suggestions to help @MDubbs, please?

Also, if anybody else has anything to add and/or share, please feel free to join in the conversation 🙂

Thank you and have a nice day.

Best,
Bérangère
