Google Ads Lead Forms not syncing with HubSpot

I hope you're doing well.

 

I’m facing an issue with syncing Google Ads Lead Forms to HubSpot, and after trying numerous troubleshooting steps, I’m still unable to get it to work. I noticed that @whistlerSign recently posted about a similar problem, and I’d like to expand on my experience and what I’ve tried so far in hopes of finding a solution or helping others facing the same issue.

 

The Problem:

  • Despite connecting my Google Ads account to HubSpot and ensuring that lead syncing is enabled, no forms are detected under the "Lead Syncing" section in the Ads tool.
  • I’ve ensured that the lead forms are linked at the campaign level, not the account level, as stated in the HubSpot documentation.
  • Leads are simply not syncing into HubSpot, even though I’ve followed all the steps outlined in the knowledge base.

What I’ve Tried:

  1. Reconnecting the Google Ads Account:

    • Disconnected and reconnected my account several times, ensuring I have admin permissions.
  2. Verified Lead Form Setup in Google Ads:

    • Confirmed that the forms are associated with active campaigns.
  3. Webhook Testing:

    • Attempted to create a webhook through Google Ads using HubSpot’s private app feature. The test data reaches the webhook, but nothing appears in HubSpot.
  4. Explored Middleware:

    • Tried using third-party tools like Zapier as a workaround, but this isn’t a long-term solution due to cost constraints.
  5. HubSpot Support:

    • Submitted a support ticket and am waiting for a response, but no updates so far.

Frustration:

For a platform as powerful and premium as HubSpot, I didn’t expect such issues with integrating a feature like Google Ads Lead Forms. This is critical for our marketing and sales teams, and it’s disappointing that these problems persist without a clear solution.

 

Request for Help:

If anyone has successfully resolved this issue or has insights into what might be causing the problem, I’d be very grateful for your advice.

Hi Bérangère,

 

I wanted to let you know that the issue has been resolved. The problem was with the field mapping in the lead forms. I had used the "Work Email" field instead of the standard "Email" field in the form setup. Since HubSpot relies on the "Email" field for syncing, it wasn’t able to detect the forms.

 

I initially thought that selecting "Work Email" would work, as HubSpot has this field available in its CRM. However, I now understand that it doesn’t align with the integration requirements. I’ve since updated the forms by replacing "Work Email" with the standard "Email" field, and everything is working as expected now.

 

Thank you again for your help and suggestions. If there’s anything else I should be aware of or if you have any additional tips for optimizing this integration, I’d be glad to hear them!

I'm sorry to hear about your experience regarding this.

I would like to apologize for the frustration, data issues, and business impact this has caused.

I have checked internally and on the HubSpot Status page and I don't see any particular bug at the moment.

To investigate, having access to your account would help a lot. Therefore, I would recommend connecting with HubSpot Technical Support, as Support is included in your subscription and they will be able to provide real-time assistance for this matter, including hopping on a screenshare if necessary.

Hi Bérangère,

 

I've double-checked everything on my end and ensured that all connections are correctly set up, as seen in the attached screenshots. Unfortunately, despite following all the proper steps and verifying the configurations, the integration still isn't working.

I've included details showing:

 

  • The webhook integration test was successfully sent.
  • The Google Ads account is correctly connected in HubSpot.
  • The lead forms are live and eligible, yet none are syncing with HubSpot as they should.

I understand these configurations are correct, which makes this issue even more puzzling. This integration failure is causing internal operational delays, and I already submitted a technical support ticket yesterday morning but have yet to receive a response.

 

If there's anything additional I can provide or steps I should retry, please let me know. I would appreciate your support in escalating this issue so we can resolve it as soon as possible.

Thank you for your response and for checking internally. However, if I follow the integration steps correctly and the platform still doesn't detect the Google Lead Gen Form, something isn't working as expected.

 

I submitted a support ticket yesterday morning but haven't received any response yet. Unfortunately, this issue is impacting some internal operations, and resolving it quickly is crucial.

 

I’d appreciate if you could help escalate this matter or assist in expediting the process.
