Error 414 (URL too long) because of Hubspot's tracking?

SOLVE

Hi dear community,

The landing page of our google ads campaign show an error 414: url too long

We have followed  all requirements for tracking Google Ads suggested by this article: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/ads/ad-tracking-in-hubspot#google and done the troubleshoot here: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/ads/troubleshoot-ad-tracking-issues#resolve-google-ad-tracking-errors

In google ads when we test our urls, the land page appear but when we click on one of our ads, it's an error 414.

Did you experiment this situation in the past?

Thank you for the help.

Error 414 (URL too long) because of Hubspot's tracking?

SOLVE

I've heard of 414 URI errors before but not specifically related to adwords.  Sometimes its about server configurations usually setup to prevent a URI that is too long to protect against injection attacks.  Is the landing page in question hosted on Hubspot servers or something you host yourself with a Hubspot form on it?

Error 414 (URL too long) because of Hubspot's tracking?

SOLVE

Hello Ben_M,

I am also having the same issue with 414 error on my Google Search Ads. We are directing to a Wordpress page.  To confirm, is the solution here to change our Wordpress configuration potentially to allow for more characters (over 400?)?

Thanks,

Amanda

SOLVE

Hi Ben_M,

Thank you for responding me.

Our landing page is a Wordpress page with a Gravity form which is on our servers. We use an add on to synchronize our forms in wordpress with HubSpot: https://www.gravityforms.com/add-ons/hubspot/

I'm checking with my IT team, thank you for the idea.
