"Some features will stay blocked" within 10 minutes of opening account

I just signed up today and I have a red bar across the top of my screen that says "Some Features will stay blocked - Unusual behavior has been noticed on your account. Access to some features across the platform will stay blocked. This is a final decision that can't be appealed.

 

I really need to be able to send emails........ otherwise this platform is useless.

@AlexQuebedeaux did you import a list with purchased contacts? how many contacts did you try to email?

HubSpot does not disclose the exact reasons for a suspension in a given portal and if you have a free portal, unfortunately, you don't have access to support for further information.

I imported a list of 17,000 leads. I didn't purchase them, I downloaded
them from the state licensed board of contractors.

I tried to send an email to 1,700 leads.

Hubspot said that I was allowed 2,000 per month.

Hi @AlexQuebedeaux While you might not have paid for those leads, you downloaded them from a source where you didn't have explicit permission to email them.

 

I don't know the details of the leads on the list of 17,000 - my guess is that HubSpot detected that there were a large number of invalid/globally bounced email addresses on the list.

 

Whenever you import a list and aren't sure of the status of the list contacts, it's important to create a list (such as EXCLUDE - BOUNCED) and set filters to identify contacts that have already bounced.

 

Attempting to email those contacts shows HubSpot that you don't actually have a relationship with them and can lead to being blocked.

 

Excluding them from your email send could prevent that from happening (not sure if there are other actions that led to being blocked), but it also helps keep your email health from suffering.

The list of emails came from the state of Louisiana's state licence board
of Contractors. It's the cleanist list of emails that you will ever find
because they must be renewed every year.

Stop treating me like I don't know what I'm doing.

I need a CRM that can handle large outgoing emails. If Hubspot cannot
handle that, please let me know now, so that I don't waste any more of my
time!!!

I have already sent over a 1 thousand emails from this same list one at a
time, and only around 10 have been undeliverable.

Am I supposed to believe that Hubspot does not allow unsolicited emails?
How else are you supposed to generate leads? That's kind of the purpose of
a CRM..........

I need a definitive answer as to whether or not paying for HubSpot will
remove this unmerited block?

@AlexQuebedeaux I do not work for HubSpot and I'm certainly not trying to treat you like you don't know what you're doing, I apologize if my response made you feel that way.

 

I'm only trying to help by providing insight into why this could have happened and to get you the answers you're looking for.

 

I can't give you a definitive answer about why your account was blocked, the FAQ provided previously has the answer to your question about what will happen with the status of your account if it can't be appealed (you'll lose access to that tool and can use other tools that haven't been blocked).

 

Since your primary objective is to send emails, if that tool is blocked without the option to appeal, then unfortunately I have to confirm that HubSpot wouldn't be a viable option for you and you'd have to find an alternative.

So in your opinion, even if I paid for Hubspot, they still won't allow me
to send emails.

Hi @AlexQuebedeaux if you paid for HubSpot, you would then have the option to appeal the block and could reach out to support for guidance on the appeal.

 

This is all a safeguard to prevent malicious actors from hurting the server health/reputation that emails come from on free accounts.
