I am currently a free user of Hubspot and am considering upgrading. However, the differnece between the free version and the starter package doesn't really seem much different.
Can somebody please explain what additions I get on the starter package and if it's really worth it?
Thank you for tagging, @TitiCuisset! I think you hit the nail on the head and provided the key information already.
Removed HubSpot branding is a big one – it will make your brand look more professional, simply because your communication doesn't convey anymore that you're using free tools for your marketing and sales.
Access to HubSpot support is also incredibly helpful. A lot of times, you'll get an answer on the community. Here and there, you'll run into issues that can only be assessed by checking in your portal. That's something that only HubSpot support can do (unless you want to invite random HubSpot community strangers into your portal).
I was a free user and I liked the solution, we are two people company. We were both admins. I purchased a core seat for the sales personnel so that we can remove HubSpot branding, but I lost all my access. Now I am forced on a "View-Only" licnese!! I can't manage my account, not being able to add/remove users, or manage billing, or access the things I created (scheduling/meetings). It's the most horrible experience one can have. The options given by HubSpot team are either cancel Starter and go back to free so both users can be admins again, or purchasing ANOTHER core seat just so that you can access the things that you already had access to on the free version. Very misleading!!.
Are you talking about the starter suite in general or a specific one (Marketing, Sales...) ? But you can find all the differences listed here. If you click on See all features at the bottom of each column, you will find a table with the differences for each tool between the different subscriptions. You can do the same then by clicking on the Sales tab, Customer Service tab & Operations tab.
These are the main ones I would note:
- With starter you don't have HubSpot branding anymore on forms, emails, live chat etc...
- Lots of limits are increased (Custom properties, reporting, notifications, templates, snippets, documents, meetings links)
- Custom field mappings & properties for operations Hub
- Access to goals, conversation routing, task queues
- Access to web & chat with HubSpot technical support
I also want to tag some of our experts on this - @karstenkoehler@Josh anything to add here?
Ultimately, I think it depends on what you want to do with HubSpot, your goals will help us understand if Starter would be a good fit for you or not
