Is It Possible to Have an Umbrella (Parent) Account with Sub-Companies in HubSpot?
SOLVE
Hi everyone,
We’re currently exploring ways to manage multiple business units under one major (umbrella) account in HubSpot. Specifically, we’re looking to set up a structure where:
There is one main (parent) account representing the holding company.
Under this main account, we would have three sub-company accounts, each:
Managed by different teams
Having separate ad accounts
Generating individual reports and dashboards
Operating independently from each other in terms of assets and contacts
Is there a way to achieve this within HubSpot ?
Any guidance, best practices, or suggestions on how to structure this would be greatly appreciated!
Yes, there are different options to approach this – with business units or with separate portals. The three columns comparison at the end of this page explains very nicely which is suitable in which scenario: https://www.hubspot.com/business-units

We have our Enterprise account set up with multiple business units, each with its own connected domain, branding, and lists. This seems like it might be the best route for you. My understanding is that with the Enterprise license, you can have unlimited domains and up to 50 business units. Let me know if this makes sense or if you have any further questions.

@karstenkoehler in the members permissions - there will be new permissions to the busines sunits ? so i can assign like team leader for this business unit ? also in the area of reports - it will be seperated reports & ad reports according to each business unit ? sorry for further questions - but i feel lost with this.
There aren't any specific business unit permissions I'm aware of, no, and you can't assign a business unit lead (the same way you cannot assign a regular HubSpot portal lead).
If you're seriously evaluating business units, I'd strongly recommend requesting a demo from a HubSpot sales rep on this. Seeing it first hand in a demo portal makes it easier to grasp.

@Muhammed-Elamir this is mentioned in the headline of each column – "one HubSpot" means one paid plan / one account. "multiple accounts/portals" means multiple paid plans / multiple accounts.
