How to stop email tracking for internal company emails when 'Never Log' is enabled
SOLVE
Is there any way to stop HubSpot from tracking internal company emails completely, even after adding the company domain to the 'Never Log' list?
I tried adding the company domain to the "Never Log" list in HubSpot in an attempt to prevent internal emails from being tracked. Despite this, I am still receiving notifications about employees opening the emails.
The goal is to completely stop HubSpot from tracking internal company emails, so that I no longer receive notifications when employees open emails, even after adding the company domain to the "Never Log" list.
Hello Ankita, I included our company domain in the "Never Log" List but still we are receiving notifications through the HubSpot App of employees opening the emails.
Have you deleted these internal contacts from the CRM? Are these notifications for recent emails or emails before you added your domain to the never log list.
Older emails will still trigger notifications as they contain the tracking code, the emails have been sent before you made any changes.
My recommendation:
Delete all internal contacts from the CRM - it is best practice as far as I am concerned
That should stop notifications because HubSpot then won't have a contact record to notify you about

To complement @franksteiner79 's answer - It is also worth checking that the "Never log" is setup for all users in the portal, as I encountered a similar issue in the past and was because the "Never log" list was set to "only me"

For information, the "Never Log" list is designed to prevent emails sent to specified domains or addresses from being saved to your CRM.
However, tracking and logging are handled separately in HubSpot. This means emails could still be tracked (with open notifications and activity feeds), even if they're not logged to a contact’s timeline.
