How to Retain Google Workspace as Domain Name Email Host?

SOLVE

Hi. I used Namecheap as my domain registrar for years, Bluehost as my website host, and Google Workspace to create, send, and receive emails (using my own domain name in the email address).

I just switched from Bluehost to HubSpot for web hosting. My domain name now works for web hosting on HubSpot instead of Bluehost.

GOAL:  I need to continue using Google Workspace to host, send, and receive all emails. I want to use HubSpot for website hosting but only Google Workspace (no syncing with HubSpot). How do I do this? Thanks.

How to Retain Google Workspace as Domain Name Email Host?

Hi @JesseHubSpot,

Connecting your domain to HubSpot does not remove your existing Google Workspace (Gmail) connection; they're separate DNS connections.

As long as you haven't removed or overwritten the Google Workspace DNS records, they should continue to function properly.

Best regards,

Thanks. I mistakenly thought that Namecheap point to HubSpot, which then points to Google Workspace. It's really Namecheap that directly points to Google Workspace for the emails and then directly points to HubSpot for the website part. Everything is working and tested now.

UPDATE:  I just sent myself and email through Gmail / Google Workspace and it worked. I don't understand why/how it worked without me adding MX records like I did with Bluehost, but it did.
