How do I grant access to attachments on a custom object?

SOLVE

hello! I am new at my company and I am doing my best to get the admin side (permissions) at a more secure level.  For some of my users, I removed their "super admin" access and gave them a custom permission set that is more tailored to their role.  For some reason, this change has revoked access to view the attachments on one of our custom objects.  It's driving me nuts!  They "look" like they have full access to the custom object, but when they log in, all attachments are missing/hidden.  What am I doing wrong?  THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

Great question!

 

To view attachments in records created by other users, a user's Notes permission must be set to Everything. Most likely the affected users have the Notes permission set to something different which does not allow them to view attachments on records created/owned by other users.

Thank you!! This worked wonderfully.  I didn’t know that attachments were considered "notes".  I will definitely remember that for the future.  THANK YOU!!!
