Exchange rates update

Hi all! Can someone please help?

 

I'm trying to update the exchange rate for a currency set in HubSpot (USD), but it is not working. Here is some relevant info and what we've already tried:

  1. USD is not set as the Company Currency - it is EUR
  2. We are currently using the free subscription 🆓
  3. We initially followed the steps outlined here (it did not work) 😫
  4. I am set up as Super Admin ✔️
  5. The feature of 'edit account defaults' does not appear on our account, so I am not able to check it off in the user permissions ✖️
  6. I tried the support via chat (after checking quite a few steps and processes, they still couldn't figure out what is wrong) 😥
  7. We (with the support team) checked the user permission history 💻
  8. We have checked at the  Knowledge Base, and the HubSpot Academy. Checked this specific thread also, with no luck 
  9. The support team suggested we posted on the HubSpot Community
  10. We are constantly getting the message in the image below USD.jpg

I had a similar issue when I was trying to update exchange rates in HubSpot, and nothing seemed to work at first. After checking everything multiple times, I realized I missed a small setting in the "Account Settings" area. It wasn't even listed under the user permissions for me initially, so I had to dig around a bit. Have you tried checking for any updates or changes on the HubSpot site, or even using external resources like this one https://ownersclubfx.com/? It helped me sort out some currency issues. I'm still pretty new to this forum, but I thought I’d share my experience!

Thank you for the detailed description of the troubleshooting steps you've already taken, this is very helpful!! 👍

 

You've mentioned that you're using the free version of HubSpot, is that correct?

It's interesting that the option to use multiple currencies and edit the exchange rate is available in your account, as this is a premium feature and is usually only available in paid versions of HubSpot.

 

There's only one currency available in free accounts and you're therefore not able to adjust the exchange rate:

I'm thinking that multiple currencies & adjusting the exchange rate could be legacy features or functions that remained in your account after a downgrade – have you used a paid version of HubSpot in the past (Starter, Professional, or Enterprise)? 

If that's the case, this is probably the reason why you're getting an error; HubSpot is unable to complete the action due to the restriction of your current product version. 

If your goal is to select a different company currency, I'd recommend to delete all currencies except one and then select a new one via the option "Edit company currency".

Yes, that really helps, thank you so much!
We did downgrade recently - and we got back to the free subscription after
using a paid version of Hubspot for a couple of months last year.
