Email signature logo upload issue

SOLVE

Hello,

The nonprofit I work for has been implementing our email signatures via Hubspot's free email signature tool for the past 8+ months but last week noticed that the uploaded logo no longer appears. I tried uploading new versions/image addresses of the logo to the signature tool and am still getting an error message. A screenshot of the error can be viewed here:

Thanks!

Email signature logo upload issue

SOLVE

@Randerson25 It's strange that it was working and now it's not - here's a few things to test:

1 - copy the Logo URL and paste it in an incognito browser (where you're not logged in to Google)

This will tell you if the file is still publicly accessible.

The file should have this setting:

Jnix284_0-1705527781786.png

2 - If it is, open the file in Google Drive and verify it is below 3 MB

Logo files have to be smaller than 3 MB, if someone updated the logo it could have changed the file size.

3 - Upload the logo to a new folder in Google Drive and replace the URL

Resets the cache on the logo image and might force it to show

With that said...I followed all of the steps to create a public logo in Google Drive and I get the same error:

Jnix284_1-1705527893643.png

When I used a URL from a public logo in our HubSpot Account under Marketing > Files, that link works fine.

It might be worth moving the file from Google Drive to HubSpot and updating everyone's links as a quick solution.

@Randerson25 This error is now visible when logged in to HubSpot, it appears Google made a change to how it is handling Google Drive links:

Everything was working great.  Now all of sudden the images that were working fine, are not working from either Dropbox or Google Drive.  It seems to me Hubspot is creating this problem on purpose to force it's users to upgrade their subscription in order to use the File Management feature.  Very unethical and typical of companies offeirng free serivces and finding ways to force users to upgrade by making simple code changes.  Super dissapointed in Hubspot.

@edmundk33 the issue is not on HubSpot's side, it has to do with changes Google made to the accessibility of images from Google Drive. I believe the same is true for Dropbox.

Being able to add files to HubSpot doesn't require a paid subscription, are you sure you have permissions to access files?

Yes, I have permission to access files. I'm the admin of my account but
there is not file management option under the Marketing tab.

Anyhow I got it figured out by copying the HTML code from my Google
signature.

@edmundk33 I'm glad you got your signature working!

if you have the new navigation, Files moved from Marketing to Library:

You can also use this link to access directly:

https://app.hubspot.com/files/######/

you'll just need to change the ###### to your portal ID that can be found in the URL when you're accessing other tools in the account.

I'm having the same issue, even after trying all of the recommendations below. Did anyone share a resolution that worked?

@digcreativework to clarify, while using a google drive link for the logo or any logo link (i.e. dropbox or hubspot files)?

Have done all your above suggestions, but nothing works.  It was working fine.  It seems like Hubspot is trying to create this problem on purpose so we are forced to upgrade in order to use the File Management feature.  Very unethical.

Hi there did you ever get this resolved?  I have tried uploading in Dropbox, Google Drive and even Hubspot Documents but nothing is working.  We are trying to use this to create Email Signatures for our Company so I cant say it has worked in the past and was thinking I was doing something wrong.

Yes, I did get it resolved, not through the Hubspot Signature creation
system. I simply created my signature in Gmail and copied the HTML code
and pasted it in the Hubspot signature editor.

Hubspot claims the Google Drive AND Dropbox have changed their policy and
that is why images are not being pulled by the Hubspot Signature creator.
I simply don't buy that as everything else that I use from Google Drive and
Dropbox seem to be working perfectly fine.
