Delete button greyed out with delete contact permissions set to on

A team member with full contact delete permissions has the delete button greyed out when viewing All Contacts. This is when selecting one contact only. Others with same permission are able to delete the same chosen contact.

Current work around is clicking the contact, then Actions ... Delete and it works for them no problem.  It's strange though that they need to do this.  Please advise what may be the problem, looks more like a HubSpot bug than user permissions related.

Hi @Tb3000,

As far as I know, even if you're selecting just one contact, deleting contacts from the index page is considered a bulk action.

Regular deletion permissions are not sufficient here and that user would also have to have bulk delete permissions:

Regular delete permissions only extend to deleting the record from the record page itself, like you described.

I totally understand how frustrating this can be — I’ve run into the same issue before when trying to update permissions. I kept getting a persistent error with no clear explanation.

What worked for me was having someone else (specifically a Super Admin) update the permissions instead. At the time, I was a Partner Admin, and once the Super Admin made the change, the issue was resolved — almost like it reset a bug.

Another option is to reach out directly to HubSpot Support from your account. They’ll guide you through the steps to share a backend code so they can review the issue on their end.

Thanks for the response! Unfortunately, a Super Admin has made the changes.  The user has also cleared their cache.  Support cannot be reached, only able to lodge here via the community 😞
