Custom Reporting Glitches: Hubspot Rep Not Responding

We've been paying for Hubspot since early 2018 and worked with a Hubspot agency partner to set everything up. When we left that partner, we were given a Hubspot rep who we are supposed to connect with periodically to go over support issues and big picture strategy. Since about November, we've had a terrible time connecting with our rep and meetings are constantly canceled or skipped.

 

Our larger problem is that we are paying for custom reporting and have yet to build custom reports that truly work for our sales reps. There are glitches in sorting and filtering, company and contact data fields don't speak to each other, exports are missing data, etc.

 

My question is---has anyone in the community worked with a Hubspot reporting expert we might be able to work with on a regular basis to build these out? It's cumbersome to put in a ticket every time we find a glitch, which seems to be daily. We really love the intuitiveness of Hubspot for our sales reps, but building what they need in the back end has been awful (and we had a bad experience with our HS agency partner, so we're not looking to go that route right now).

Ok, so you already know, "all HubSpot Agency Partner's are not created equal".


In our neck of the woods (Florida), leading Platinum Agency Partner retainers start at $6K/month for basic packages.


Your options are ...
- Try to operate HubSpot on your own -- not recommended.
- Hire a HubSpot person 'in-house' -- make sure they're certified and have experience with HubSpot (not just any martech s/w).
- Hire a consultant to guide you -- check their references first.
- 'Contractor-hop' trying to find someone who's qualified to do what they promise while saving you money and wasting your time. (see Upwork)
- 'Platform-hop' trying to find marketing happiness elsewhere. (see Marketo, Pardot, etc.)
- Hire a Platinum Agency Partner -- check their references first. (no exceptions)


Not to worry, there are lots of good HubSpot people in this community. Considering that all HubSpot Agency Partners are trained by HubSpot to put customer's first, smart ones will want to know ...

- Why you weren't happy together

We actually are all Hubspot certified on our team, and we've been using our rep for higher level strategy sessions. But in the last few months, we've come across actual bugs and glitches in custom reporting, so much so we haven't been able to create a truly functional dashboard for our sales reps. I know a lot of people use Salesforce to get around this, but with our small team that isn't really an option.

 

I probably wasn't clear in my initial long-winded post. We're looking to work with someone at Hubspot on these custom reporting obstacles, and we've been really unsuccessful in finding consistent support. It's impacting what data we can go back to our partners and report.  My Q to the community is: is there a custom reporting expert at Hubspot you've worked with? Or, if you've had problems with your rep at Hubspot, have you found someone that is above their head you can speak to? Or maybe someone here is experiencing glitchy reporting too and has found a workaround?

Gotcha. HubSpot provides "advanced, personalized technical guidance from one consistent point of contact" via their ongoing Technical Consulting offering. This may be a good option for you if your heart's set on working with someone at HubSpot.

 

Otherwise, consider using Databox (for serious real-time reporting dashboards).
