Company Currency not updating correctly after changing deal currency

Hi all,

I have an issue with one of our deals:

  • we originally closed a deal as Won with GBP as the currency.

  • after closed, I needed to change the deal currency to HKD.

  • After the change, the line items and totals updated correctly in HKD.

However, the "Amount in Company Currency" field shows the numerical value of the HKD total but still displays it in GBP. It looks like the exchange rate hasn’t kicked in. see screenshot below

I’ve already:

  • Verified that GBP is set as my company currency.

  • Checked that HKD is active and has the correct exchange rate configured

Please can someone help?

Hey @ICardoso ,

Per the HubSpot knowledge base article for default deal properties, linked here!

The changes to exchange rate stop applying after the deal hits closed won or lost stages.

As per your message, the deal was marked closed in July but was updated recently.

Hence, the amount in company currency is not accounting for a change from GBP to HKD.

I hope this provides the clarity and context you were looking for. If it resolves your question, please mark it as the accepted solution and give it an upvote so it can help others in the community as well.

Hi @ICardoso,

Verified that GBP is set as my company currency.

If it’s set as company currency, why would it change to HKD? Or am I missing something here? Please let me know!

The “amount in company currency” will remain GBP, even with the amount changed according to the exchange rate of HKD.

If you want the currency code to change in “amount in company currency” as well, you’ll need to update the settings for the company currency itself.

If this helps, feel free to mark it as the solution ✔️ and give it an upvote 👍 !

Hi @Jigar_Thakker,

Orginally the deal amount was in GBP. We then closed the deal in July but yesterday we changed the amount of the deal to the client currency, which is HKD. However the total amount the deal in company curreny which is GBP is not reflected correctly.

Does it make sense?
