Changing System Domain

I have recently changed my company name and use the allocated system domain for landing pages.

Now that my company name has changed I would also like to change the allocated system domain URL that was originally allocated. I assumed that since the domain was allocated and setup by Hubspot when I first set up my account that the URL would change once the company name was changed but it didn't.

Is this something Hubspot has to change? I don't really want to set up a redirect as I'm worried the old company name will still show when the redirect is happening. Can anyone help with this?

Hey @SPerryDHD I believe the system domains are only provisioned once when your account is set up and can't be updated.

But I want to tag in @MiaSrebrnjak to double check! Mia do you know if there's an internal task that can be done to change a system domain?

Thanks for the ping @TomM2

Hi @SPerryDHD, you can change the system domain yourself by going to Settings > Account Defaults > General > Company Information. The Company Domain there can be edited. Please allow a couple of minutes for the domain to update everywhere, but you should be all set after that! This will also change the domain that is set for your account in our internal records.

It seems you're publishing content via HubSpot as well – if you've connected your old domain in Settings > Tools > Website > Domains & URLs, you'd need to disconnect it there and connect your new domain

I hope this helps, let me know if you'll have any additional questions!

Cheers

Hi,

I did this weeks ago but the domain hasn't changed?

When I publish content to a landing page it still uses the old system domain that was assigned when the account was first opened in the old company name?

Hi

I gave up in the end and don't use HubSpot any more.

It's a shame because I really liked using it but nobody was interested in helping me so I moved on.

This definitely a HubSpot bug that we are having an issue with as well. It can be recreated by generating a Quote > the url prefix is our OLD domain. We made a domain change about 5 years ago, so it's not a cache issue.

Is there any updates on a fix for this from HubSpot developers?

Thank you for your response. That seems strange there must be lots of other cases were companies have changed names?
