Change email for login

I have set up an account for my client, using my own email address so that I can check it all works, etc., however, now I want to remove myself completely from the account and put her down as the super user, it won't let me, saying that she already has an account.
She did try to set one up, didn't finish it and we have closed that down completely (typed delete, etc.,), we've even tried logging in again and getting a new password just in case, it's saying there is no account under that email address.
Is there a way of overcoming this?
How do I remove myself and add her?
