Automated Lifecycle Stage Changed to Opportunity Without An Associated Deal?

I have approximately 360 contacts whose lifecycle stage is set to Opportunity but there is no deal associated with the company/contact records.

In my settings I have both Deals and Companies automated lifecycle sync turned on. Is that causing the issue?

I'm also working with Salesforce integration and we have both Companies and Deals syncs turned on. There are no Deals/Opportunities associated with the Companies/Accounts in either HubSpot or Salesforce. I've been scouring HS documentation, academy, and forums (huge waste of time...) looking for why this is happening and can't seem to find info.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? What am I missing? Thanks!!

Do you have companies marked as opportunities?  There is a setting for contacts to update with that change.  Can you send a screen shot of the history on a contact records Lifecycle stage so we can see when/how the change happened?

Hi @ktfritchen,

If you look at the history view of the lifecycle stage property can you tell:

  • What caused the lifecycle to change
  • Did all of these contacts change at the same time (if it's in the history)
