passing additional paramteter to auth authorize api

I wish to pass additional parameter in the 

https://app.hubspot.com/oauth/authorize 

API this is need for us to associate things at server side. But passing as URL parameters like

https://app.hubspot.com/oauth/authorize?client_id=XXX... &mykey=value 

is lost when i get the flow on my redirect_uri which is my server side servlet. I am only getting code there.  how do i get the request parameter or some other way i can pass it along?

Actually i found the solution. There is a state parameter provided by hubspot just for that

I do not believe you can send anything else in that initial OAuth request 🤔
