custom object data missing in sandbox

I created a sandox assuming that it would essentially be a mirror of production, however, it looks like the existing data for custom objects was not copied into the sandbox.  Is this a known limitation of sandboxes - i.e. that they don't include custom object data?  I see the custom object defintions are present in the sandbox, just none of the data.  I couldn't find anything in the documentation that states such a limitation, but any clarification that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, @projectcabana 👋 You are not missing an option. The in-app workflow and the documentation make reference to this limitation, and I agree it could be more explicitly called out.

Here's what I am referring to:

“Standard and custom object properties, property groups, and dependencies, but not object records.”
“5,000 most recently updated contacts and their associated deals, companies, and tickets” (does not include custom object records)
