creating reusable sequence email templates using API

Hello,

I'm looking for an API to create an email template that I can use under Automations -> Sequences -> Create Sequence -> Email. Is this possible?

Basically, I hope my API-created email can show up in the panel below.

Hi @evaldas, Thanks for the reply! I created an email template in "Library > Templates." But when I tried to GET the template using GET Template, it gave me the error "Unable to find model with id 70409380." Did I do anything wrong?

That's strange. I thought I saw a successful test last week but I am also getting the same error. It's possible those templates got "locked" because it was not supposed to be available. Unfortunately, I don't have the results saved from those tests, so I can't claim it was for sure available for sequence templates. It's also possible I used an ID of a marketing email template by accident (which still works).

In either case, it appears that now the only way to create templates for sequences is through the HubSpot UI. However, I does not look like there are any options to convert emails into templates as the sequence email has very basic editing options and you will likely have to use the good old copy/paste for that.

Hey, @YQin 👋 Unfortunately, there is not a Sequence-related API. There is not an endpoint or way to do what you are asking programmatically. I understand why this would be useful.

Hi @YQin,

What you could do is create a sample template when creating the sequence. That template will then be available in "Library > Templates" in the left sidebar navigation.

At that point you can either manually clone it through the HubSpot UI or utilize the API to fetch that template, make edits and upload a copy to your portal (recent community post with some information on the API approach).
