Hello. I am looking to create a workflow based on SurveyMonkey responses, but am not sure if HubSpot is capable of quite this level of specificity. One of the questions we are asking in our survey is contact information for an employee's manager. From there, we would like to automatically create a list for each new manager listed in the survey. Is it possible to create a new list based on whether or not there is already an existing list for a manager? I see that one can be done by stating if the name is known, if it does or does not contain something, etc., but am not sure it can do what we are wanting. Thank you for your help!
Hey, @SWells7👋 Your instinct is correct here. That is one function that Workflows cannot accomplish — they cannot evaluate if a specific list exists for a specific User and then create the list if one doesn't exist.
Here are some additional details for the interested.
We can:
evaluate if a Contact is on a specific List
we can add Contacts to a List via a Workflow Action
we can enroll based on a specific form submission
and we can use if/then branches to segment Contacts or add them to lists, for example, based on known values for specific properties
But the tool cannot create a net new static list if one doesn't exist based on a Contact having a specific owner.
