In the new "Insert Data" tab we have hese 3 options.
Say, i am creaitng a workflow under deals. suppose the message is :
Hey "first_name" (from contact) , this is your "deal_name" (from deal). I want the first name to be the name of the contact to whom this message is actually being sent. But what does the 3 options mentioned under "contact" (shown in image above) mean. Does it mean that the "first_name" property will be replaced by actual value only for those contacts which were recenlty modified, but not work for all the contacts associated with a deal ??
It *looks* to me like your screenshot is from "Copy property value" when you go to "Add data source".
HubSpot can only copy data to a deal from one contact to a deal.
But, based on your use-case, I don't think you need to copy any data, you can send an Email and use the personalization tokens in the email to customize based on the contact record, not the deal.

hey @CHawkins , I did not exaclty inderstand the -- " you can send an Email and use the personalization tokens in the email to customize based on the contact record, not the deal. " Can you please explain this a bit further. I cannot see "personalization tokens" options near the 'textbox'. Was there an update that removed it ? Or is there a specific way to add it ? which I might have missed.
thanks for the quick response @CHawkins , I am actually looking fo deal based worflows only, but we gave considered an alternative for this limitation which will be handled by our backend, so its not an issue. Nevertheless, Thanks for your time. 😃
Thank you for reaching out to the Community! In order to look into this further, would you mind clarifying which workflow action you are using?
I would also love to hear from @Josh and @CHawkins! Any ideas on how to select all contacts associated to a deal instead of the three options shown in the screenshot above when inserting data into a workflow action?
Thanks for the response. The question you have put above is exactly what I am asking for.
I am using Automation --> Workflow (deals) . the Action is from the App that we have developed ( Kaleyra ).
Further, the "textarea" field used to come with option of inserting the "personalization token". I did not see it here. So, I assumed that the new "Insert Data" widget is the upgraded way of inserting data.
