Thousands of engagements updated over past week

Hello,

We're running a custom report for one of our clients giving them summary of all the engagements recorded in past 7 days. Usually the number is at few hundreds at most but this week it spiked to over 10,000 engagements which is beyond HubSpot's recent engagements endpoint limit.

I've looked into the data and noticed some of these were triggered by either inactive or deleted workflows. For many other it's difficult to find what caused them to update and when randomly checking engaged contacts via web interface, there's no trace of the update, regardless if it's a note, task or an email. The report created in HubSpot shows less than 200 activities but I presume this only includes those created not updated.

Could anyone shed more light on this?

Thanks,

Artur

Thousands of engagements updated over past week

Hi,

We're still experiencing issues with 10k+ engagements updated within short time frame with no apparent trigger or reason, rendering the reporting tool we developed for our client not operational. We would appreciate if we could get any information on the causes of this behaviour and possible workarounds.

Thank you,

Artur

Thousands of engagements updated over past week

Hi @arturp ,

This appears to be due to a backfill job that has been running on our end in order to populate a new field for all engagements. Going forward, you should see your engagement updates return to normal rates. We're currently investigating ways to prevent this type of update from affecting these "recently updated" endpoints going forward.

Thanks,

Derek

Thousands of engagements updated over past week

Hi Derek,

Thank you for taking a look. While the number of engagements had gone down to the usual levels for some time, it picked up again in recent days. For example, since yesterday there has been almost 1.5k engagements recorded. Would that be caused by the same issue?

Thanks,

Artur
