Processing bounces from SMTP API

Hi,

 

I would like to detected bounced e-mails sent with the SMTP API. Have seen they appear in the events returned by /email/public/v1/events. The problem is i'm unable to correlate those events to the e-mails sent by us through the SMTP API since my smtp client (.Net, SmtpClient) does not return any IDs. Correlating on e-mailaddress is possible but not good enough for me. Is there a way i can get an ID or pass my own?
