Not possible to add an external attachment to an email engagement?

Hello,

I can attach hubspot documents by id just fine but I need to attach  thru the API a document which is an external URL, is that possible?

Same goes with note engagement, I cannot attach an external link document that would be uploaded to the contact note?

@coneos That makes it interesting! I'm assuming the reason for the attachments being external is that they come from another service? 

You could very easily use HubDB to store the URLs with a date time property. Then use th HubDB to create dynamic pages that redirect to the URL and are gated based on the date time property! This is assuming that the URLs are rather static and not unique to the user. This would also allow you to track views of said asset in HS!

Depending on you HS product tier this is just one option. There could be quite a few options for you and your team! Happy to chat those out.

Your assumption is right but I am using Pabbly Connect to send a report from another app so I was hoping not to have to code anything. I'll give it a try, for now I'll just use Sending blue to send the email with the attachment but still create the email engagement without the attachment. Thanks!

A work around might be to add the URL directly into to the engagement/note body? Would that suffice?

Yes I thought about it but I t won’t work as the URL is not valid after
some time 😞
