We are integrating our system to HubSpot through an API that talks to HS every 5 minutes. A couple of years ago, there was a one-time upload of data to HubSpot with very basic data points, one of them being account number.
Our API is failing those that have account numbers because of the unique identifier but we want the company data we are bringing through the API because it has more properties and is overall more robust than what exists. We can later merge them through Insycle.
For this initial API integration can we manipulate HS to allow duplicate companies with the same account number?
If not - any other thoughts on how to accomplish this? Doing it manual it;s not an option since this is the case with 15k companies, which is about half of our data.
Hey @MUribe - When we're talking about a unique identifier, do you mean the Company ID inside HubSpot, or some other unique ID? If we're working with Company ID, we have no way to allow for two Companies with the same ID in HubSpot: that's a hard limit we won't be able to circumvent.
Would it be feasible to de-duplicate the data before it reaches HubSpot? If you have any extra context on this one, it'd be really useful.
