Is there a way to identify a particular hubspot account if it is a dev or production account?

Hi Hubspot Team,

We are currently working on a use case where we would like to connect our user's test site to only Hubspot test site and our users live site to Hubspot live account. Is there an API / or a way to identify a specific Hubspot account if it's a test or a live one. Any leads would be appreciated.

Currenly, while there isn't an API to identify if a specific HubSpot account is test/production. If a portal is a Developer Test portal, the following message: 

"You have 68 days left in your Developer Test Portal trial." 

will be displayed above the navigation bar.

I saw that there is a CMS API Domain that lists the domain and that domain name contains a "-dev" in the domain name is a test account. Is this is a reliable way to identify an account?

Can you give us confirmation from your internal team to the developers proceeding with this implementation? Also, can you notify us if this behavior is ever planned to change?
