HubSpot Emails returning incorrect hs_email_direction

We use hs_email_direction to determine whether an email is incoming or not. Incoming emails have the value of INCOMING_EMAIL. However, we're seeing incoming emails being marked with the value of EMAIL despite emails being sent to users we have in our HubSpot account.

What we're seeing

1. Email sent to x@test.com. x@test.com is a user in HubSpot

2. The logged email has the hs_email_direction =EMAIL

Expected

The logged email has the hs_email_direction = INCOMING_EMAIL

Is this a bug?

HubSpot Emails returning incorrect hs_email_direction

Hey, @Vessel 👋 Thanks for reaching out. A couple of quick questions:

  • How are the emails being logged? Are they sent and logged to the CRM with the BCC address?
  • Is this for a portal with access to support? If so, it might be worth filing a support ticket. And I am happy to help here to the extent that the community and I can support you.

Thanks for the additional information.

Best,

Jaycee

HubSpot Emails returning incorrect hs_email_direction

Thanks for checking in Jaycee! The emails are logged automatically via the HubSpot & Gmail integration. Here's a sample email where it's from someone in my CRM and the recipient is my email that's connected to HubSpot. The email was automatically logged but this was another case where it wasn't treated as an incoming email.

We do not have access to support unfortunately. Is this a known bug? Appreciate your help Jaycee!
