Get updates of record association changes

I periodically call CRM search endpoints to retrieve updated CRM objects by filtering on "last modified date" property. I do this per CRM object; Deal, Contact and Company. When a Deal becomes associated with a different Company, the Deal's search endpoint doesn't return that Deal - e.g. the Deal's last modified date property won't be updated - But, when a Company is deleted, all associated Deals will be returned by the search endpoint - e.g. last modified date property in the Deal will be updated.

I didn't find any documentation confirming this behaviour. I want to learn which object I should expect to get updates for once their association is changed. If I create an association between a Deal and a Contact, should I expect the Deal or Contact update when two records are associated?

Get updates of record association changes

@notabot - I am thinking that this behavior (and inconsistency if you will) is a function of the way that Deals and Contacts/Companies got woven together before the current association logic was publicly exposed and fully developed as it is now.

For example, Contacts & Companies have various pre-defined rollup properties (Number of open deals, etc) related to associated Deals that will change when a Deal association is removed - and therfore change the last updated date on the Contact/COmpnay property. Removing these would break a lot of long time workflow logic.

Not a solution, but perhaps an insight.
