Hi,
I am aware that you can add a UID when creating an engagement. My question is: does HubSpot create one when an engagement is created from within the UI (sent email, logged call, etc.)?

Ah yes hi again ! Sorry @brianjlowry , I misunderstood your question. The uid field is not automatically created, you'll have to specify that. That said, I'm not able to get that field to work for me, so I'm going to go ahead and reach out to our product team to see if we can get that fixed!

Hey @brianjlowry , yes all HubSpot engagements have an associated ID. That ID is automatically generated by HubSpot. You can GET an Engagement by its ID once it's been created.
Thanks - I think we crossed paths there; I was asking about the unique ID (UID) which the API documentation lists as optional:
uid
Optional unique identifier for the Engagement. Can be reused across types
I wouldn't think that HubSpot would create this automatically given that it is optional, but I could be mistaken. Any help is greatly appreciated - and apologies for any confusion in the wording of my original question.

Hi @cbarley, any progress on getting UID to work? I need an API method to update engagement based on UID I created earlier when creating the engagement.
