We're looking to see if it is possible to decouple the HS chat widget from the general HS tracking code. Our specific use case:
We use our own cookie consent banner. Currently, we do not load HS tracking code until a user opts into cookies.
On a few pages, we want to display the HS chat widget to all visitors, regardless of cookie consent status.
In this scenario, we would enable the chat widget's standalone cookie consent feature to ensure the user is opting into chat cookies.
However, we have not found a way to load the HS chat widget without loading the broader HS tracking code. Because we don't want to load the HS tracking code until the user opts into cookies, this limits who can see our chat bot.
Is there a way we can display the chat widget even if a user has not opted into cookies via our cookie consent banner? Can the HS tracking code be loaded by default, but no cookies dropped until consent is given via our own (not HS) banner? Is there another solution for this situation?
In order for the chat widget to appear the tracking code needs to be active and firing on your page. If it is not, it will not appear and run. If you would like the chatflow to appear on a page without the tracking code then I would suggest posting that on our Ideas Forum.
