Difference between "Email" events and "Engagement - Email" events?

Résolue

I am using the API to get events from a HubSpot portal. I see there are two types of email events:

  • events of type EMAIL, including events like CLICK, OPEN, etc
  • events of type ENGAGEMENT, including `type = EMAIL`

I am guessing EMAIL events all represent automated emails sent as part of an automation or sequence, whereas ENGAGEMENT emails are those sent manually by a human.

Am I understanding correctly?

Thanks!

Thank you for your post @PChalasani !

Here's the difference between those 2 APIs:

  • The email events API is for marketing emails and automated emails sent through workflows (This doesn't include sequences, currently there's no API to export sequence emails data.)
  • The engagements email API is for 1:1 emails sent through the object records (this doesn't include 1:1 emails sent through the connected inbox)

I hope this clarifies:)
