Create a Task and set Due Date with Engagements API

I don't see any Due Date in TASK metadata in the Engagements API per https://legacydocs.hubspot.com/docs/methods/engagements/create_engagement or https://legacydocs.hubspot.com/docs/methods/engagements/engagements-overview.

How can I set the Due Date when creating a Task?

Priority and Reminder are also shown in the UI, but not in the API docs above.

Found the answer in a Forum post here. Quoting from that post in the reply from Derek_Gervais:

"The due date of a task is the timestamp field in the engagement body."

A key feature of my project is to manage a Task Due Date through the API. For example to sync the date due with external tasks.

Is this currently possible with the API? Is there any planned API feature to implement this in the future?

I seem to recall seeing something about a newer engagements api in plan, but can't seem to find it at the moment. Is there a plan/timeline somewhere? Trying to plan my integration.
