Connect and extract information from Insurance software Acturis

SOLVE

Hello all

I was wondering if anyone had successfully integrated information from Acturis insurance software (https://www.acturis.com/) via an api or any other means into HubSpot?

Thanks!

Hey @JButters78,

I haven't come up against this system before but for I have worked with clients integrating similar systems. I'd be fairly confident that there isn't any native (plug and play) options on the market.

I checked Acturis website to see if I could get more insights on their APIs but I was only able to find this page referencing that their "system is API-enabled which allows it to integrate seamlessly with other internal and external systems for the easy flow of data exchange between systems – receiving it from third parties and feeding it into other downstream systems.".

From this I feel there are two approachs you could take:

1. Custom Integration: Using a combination of the HubSpot APIs and the Acturis APIs create a fully bespoke integration. Generally speaking a custom integration will offer you the most flexibility in terms of doing what you want it to do based on your functional requirements but tends to come at the cost of time, money and resources. There is also the longer term maintenance to consider. If you do choose this somethings to keep in mind include:

  • What data do you want to sync and what objects in HubSpot can be used to represent this information. Custom objects may also be worth considering.
  • How often do you want this data to sync and be mindful of the rate limits imposed on both systems. HubSpot have that documented here.
  • What direction do you want data to sync. One way or Two way and depending on the approach how do you handle conflicting data. Should one system be the "source of truth". It also might be worth considering webhooks to provide a more real time update in each system.
  • What functionality are you looking to get out of the integration. For instance in HubSpot are you hoping to use this data for email marketing, reporting etc... Depending on this have a think about how that data is stored in HubSpot.

2. iPaaS Integration: Use a system like Zapier, Make (formerly Integromat), Tray or Workato to create an integration between HubSpot and Acturis. The benefit of using an iPaaS is that it adopts a low code/no code approach so it can often help to remove some of the complexities that come with building an integration along with the longer term maintenance. They also tend to be more cost effective but this is at the expense of flexibility. I should also add there are tons of other iPaaS systems the above are just a few I've used in the past.

I hope that this is in some way helpful and wish you best of luck in the project moving forward! 😊

Hi - yes and no - I spoke with Acturis and we discussed a plan.  It's doable but will require investment in their services.  They don't have open APIs in the same way as HubSpot does.  Let me know if I can help.
