API to API OAuth authentication

Hello all, after reading up on the Blog about API Keys being sunsetted in favor of private apps, my company has to switch over to public apps (which we're already using for webhooks).

Now because private apps don't support webhook, we have to switch over to scopes and full OAuth2 for the public app/integration.

The issue here is, I'm not quite sure how to implement OAuth2 authentication with Authorization Code grant type, because most of our communication will be done over API to API.

Is there a way to use Client Credentials as grant type for the API, since that would allow for easier implementation with Spring Boot's OAuth2 rest template.

Regards,

Vedran

Hi, @vedran-kopanja 👋 Thanks for the interesting question. Hey, @Bryantworks @jpsanchez, @RMones, do you have any thoughts on how @vedran-kopanja can think about tacking their project?

Thank you for taking a look! — Jaycee
