Workflows automatically creates lists I don't want
resolver
Hello,
I am creating a deal based workflow that will add deals to a list when a deal contains a specific line item. I created a static list, tested the workflow and it does what it's purpose is.
However, it created a list automatically. These lists always have [Workflows] - DATE AND TIME - WORKFLOW NAME in their name. Why are these lists being created? The point of my workflow is to add deals to a list that I created and now I am going to have 2 exactly the same lists.
Workflows don't create lists on their own. What you're experiencing are likely the lists that you can create as a preview of records to be enrolled before turning the workflow on. This will show you which workflows would be enrolled.
If the list your seeing is a static list and starts like this "[Workflows] -", then these were not created automatically by the workflow but by a user in your HubSpot portal by clicking this, potentially accidentally:
If this option is clicked, one list will be created once.
In over a decade of using HubSpot, I have never seen these lists created without a user clicking the link in the screenshot above. If you do, I'd recommend reaching out to HubSpot support.
Hope this helps!

Thanks @karstenkoehler ! The user that clicked that link is me 😄 it is nice to get a preview, however I don't want to keep that list, it creates a bit of a mess in the system.

I agree - I like to check the list before I commit to enrolling them all in the workflow - it's a bit of a sanitiy check. Automatically saving this list is unnecessary and I just end up having to delete heaps of lists that have no further use.
